I was kind of reluctant to write this article because it’s somewhat frowned upon although it still is a legitimate way of making gold. But if you don’t care what other people think or want to try this on a bank or auction house alt, by all means give it a try!

Cornering the market means pretty much making the market a monopoly, your monopoly. Which means you control the price of a certain good. So in your mind you would have a set price like 80 gold for Frozen orbs and buy pretty much everyone out below you and control the market so that Frozen orbs don’t go below 80 gold. You would also call out on the channel wanting to buy everyone’s Frozen Orbs and take control of as much supply as you possibly can.

<div style=”display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;”>

The Disadvantages
There is great risk with this strategy because new supply always arises. People are always running heroic dungeons, which means each group is getting an orb per run. Not all of these orbs will make their way onto the auction house but some of them will. You also need to have a sufficient amount of gold to control the market so that you don’t run out of gold and have a bunch of frozen orbs sitting around that you have bought much higher than the current market price.

You also need to make sure that you know how much you are making off of each orb. If you’re selling them for 80 gold and someone else is selling them for 78 gold, it probably isn’t worth it to buy them out unless you want to make the 80 gold to 85 gold instead, even riskier. You always have to consider what the auction house cut is. That’s 5% so if you’re selling Frozen Orbs at 80 gold, you’re paying the auction house 4 gold per sale. That means you shouldn’t be buying orbs unless they are under 76, preferably much lower.

The Advantages
So where’s the potential? Well, if the demand grows and the supply shortens you can actually raise the prices of your supply to say 85 gold or higher. If there’s no one else selling Frozen Orbs you can probably raise it to 90 gold and you actually sell some, although it might be fewer, that’s still an extra 10 gold. As more orbs make their way onto the auction house you can go back to selling them at 80 gold and take out everything below it.

You can make a huge amount of gold from this but it takes a lot of work and patience. You have to consistently monitor the markets that you are in. As your gold base increases, you could start doing other things like Abyss Crystals, Runed Orbs, Infinite Dust, Ebonweave, Spellweave, Moonshroud, etc. the list just goes on and more people will like to dislike your auction house alt…lol.

If you’re doing this right, you will probably sell 30-40 and be making anywhere from 5-15 gold per day on each item. So that’s anywhere from 150-600 gold a day per item. As you increase your repertoire, you will be able to multiply this number. So if you’re doing 5 different items you will be making anywhere from 750-3,000 gold. This is a ballpark figure because it really depends on so many factors. As you do it more you will probably make more as your refine your skills.

As you can see you can make a lot of gold from doing this, ridiculous amounts to be honest if you work really hard. I don’t do this very often as it is much too time consuming and I try to let the markets do their thing. I don’t want a monopoly happening for anything in the real world so why would I want one in the World of Warcraft. Well it’s just a game one would say, but it’s very funny how most of the players in the game reflect the very person they are in real life. Some are able to create a complete alter-ego however which is amazing in itself.

Anyhow, back to the topic. If you don’t want to go this extreme, the best way is to simply buy when markets are cheap and just resell it when the markets are higher. This I do, because it’s much less time consuming and I don’t annoy anyone. To use the Frozen orb example, I often buy them around 60 gold and see them go for mid 80s often. I usually use the Frozen orbs to craft stuff because that yields a greater profit for me, but if you don’t have crafting professions I suppose this would work well for you.

With the release of patch 3.2 came the new raid Trial of the Crusader and Trial of the Grand Crusader (Heroic). The heroic version is a significant upgrade from the regular version and requires the raiders to be well geared and know the fights inside and out.

<div style=”display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;”>

I’m the raid leader of our guild and I’ve done a decent amount of research on this fight as well as others and thought I would provide some useful information and links to add to your knowledge so that you might be able to implement them into your runs.

First here are some great links for the basic abilities of each boss as I won’t be going into the detail about every ability:
Downfallguild.org: http://www.downfallguild.org/NorthrendBeasts
Tankspot: http://www.tankspot.com/forums/f206/53693-coliseum-northrend-beasts.html

Gormok the Impaler
On the whole Gormok isn’t too bad. On regular mode, I ask everyone to be sure to spread out to avoid the head cracks from the snobolds (and people around them) and to ensure that no more than one person has a fire thrown at them at any time. Snobolds are taken out on the fly and priority is given to the healers, ranged, then the melee.

A neat trick I found was that if you levitate your ranged and healers, the fire that is thrown at them will disappear and thus they won’t have to move, maximizing their healing and dpsing. I challenge my priests so that they keep levitating people mi-fight so that ideally we would not have any snobolds at all.

We usually have three tanks for this fight and since we have pally tanks they can cleanse impales off of themselves and carry on tanking. This helps especially in heroic mode as it takes a huge burden off of the healers. I have also gone with 5 healers to increase our dps but 6 healers would make it easier given that your raid has an average of 5,000+ dps.

As long as you maintain your dps and if you keep your tanks up, you should have no problem with Gormok, just make sure you get rid of all of the snobolds before engaging the worms.

Acidmaw and Dreadscale
I’m sure every guild has different ways to deal with these two worms, but we usually concentrate on one worm and heal through the enrage of the second worm. Again everyone should stay spread out to avoid getting the toxin or burning bile. Ideally no more than two people should get either unless you’re unfortunate or melee gets it.

The key here is to make sure the raid knows who has either buff so that they can be taken off quickly. The tanks will often get either buff and will need to face the worms to the direction that they will need to run and therefore the raid should be aware of which way they will run.

The Dreadscale tank will need to move periodically as it will drop Slime Pools that will hurt you. Every so often, the worms will burrow and you will need to ensure that you are spread out after they come back up. In addition, you will need to know beforehand, which direction the tanks will be facing the worms after they come back up. Rinse and repeat and you should be able to get the worms down.

Obviously, on heroic mode things won’t be as easy. The toxin ticks every second instead of every two seconds and the burning bile hits 2-3 times harder. As long as everyone is aware of their range and their buffs and the Slime Pools you should do alright.

Icehowl
Icehowl is probably the easiest of the three bosses. On heroic, the only thing you have to worry about is the enrage timer and this will depend on how quick you were able to down the first two sets of bosses. You should still stay spread out for Icehowl as he will artic breath the raid, which will freeze people in place. Mages can blink out of this.

Melee will be knocked back occasionally and there isn’t much you can do about this. The main part of this fight is his massive crash where Icehowl jumps to the middle of the room and knocks the entire raid against the wall. He will then pick out a player and charge them. In normal mode this is a cinch as you will have a speed buff. However on heroic you will need to move in the right direction immediately. Note that you should be using your mouse to move and that the first split second it makes you run towards Icehowl, be sure to click again so that you are facing the direction you want to be running.

Once Icehowl hits the wall and doesn’t hit anyone, he will stun himself and this is usually when we blow hero. If he hits someone and enrages you can tranq shot him in normal but not in heroic. Rinse and repeat and you’ll have him down. Congratulations on the kill!

Buying and Selling Frost Lotus and Titanium Ore

In this article, I’d like to go through something I pay attention to every time I’m at the auction house. That is, I check the price of Frost Lotus and Titanium Ore. Since patch 3.2 has been released, the price of Titanium ore has sky rocketed thanks to how it can now be prospected. Patch 3.2 also meant the introduction of a new raid, the Trial of the Crusader. With the release of it, meant more raiders need flasks and hence the greater demand for Frost Lotus.

<div style=”display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;”>

These two commodities in the World of Warcraft won’t be going any lower in demand anytime soon, especially Frost Lotuses, as more and more people will continue to raid across all servers. The more active your server is with raiders, the higher the demand for Frost Lotus.

When I go to the auction house, I check the price for both commodities and take note for a few days to get a solid feeling for the market price of each one. This is a common theme you see in all my posts and this is what I do to all items I am keeping track of. Once you have a solid feeling for the market price, you now need decide what you need to buy Frost Lotuses or Titanium ore for to flip it and sell it at a decent price.

I go by percentages since that’s what the auction house cut is as well. Your regular faction’s auction house cut is 5% and I believe the cross faction (Goblin auction houses) are 15%. So you should take this into consideration as you buy and sell anything in the World of Warcraft.

I try to make at least a 10-15% profit on everything I try to flip. So that means if Frost Lotuses are going for 50 gold and you want to sell them for say 49 gold. The auction house cut is 2 gold 45 silver per Frost Lotus. To make 10-15% on each Frost Lotus or roughly around 7 gold, you should strive to buy each Frost Lotus at 40 gold or less.

It will entirely depend on how much you want to make on each item that you are trying to resell. Sometimes, you won’t want as much profit per item you sell. The less profit you seek, the more you will be able to buy and sell since you will have a greater chance of seeing the item for sale at that higher price. If you expect to buy the items at too low a price, you won’t be able to turn a profit since you won’t have enough opportunities to buy, so there may be a need to adjust accordingly depending on the item you want to buy and sell and the profit you want from the process. You could also define a set gold amount like 5 gold profit per sale after the auction house cut.

Another great place to find deals is the trade channel. Here you will find opportunities where there will be farmers that don’t want to bother with the auction house. These farmers want to sell their stuff as soon as possible so that they can go back to farming, make these people your friends! I’ve have several farmers that I buy from regularly and I turn round and sell it from a profit, it really is a win-win situation.

Hope this helps! Be sure to check back regularly for more ways of making gold in the latest World of Warcraft content!

Frozen orbs are very cheap on my server and I’m guessing they are on yours as well considering how many people run heroics nowadays. I see them usually going for around 25-30 gold. When I see them at 25 gold or less, I buy as much as I can so that I don’t have to worry about it later on. Shadow crystals and Dark Jades usually go for pretty cheap.

So I’ve been fooling around with the Midsummer Festival and got my Flame Warden title yesterday. My friend and I two manned Ahune, the Ice Lord which by the way is a little annoying with all the adds. Trust me I’m not bragging, two level 80s should be able to take him out, although it helps that my friend is geared with a few heroic Ulduar equipment

<div style=”display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;”>

Here is the one link you’ll need by our good friends at Wowwiki.com to get the information you need for all daily quests, not only in Northrend.

Do Your Daily Quest Grind
You can do 25 daily quests everyday and while that seems a lot for most, it really isn’t and depending on how efficient you are, you can probably do that many in little over an hour or maybe two hours. With many of these quests with rewards of 10 gold or more (many at 13 gold 23 silver), that’s at least 200 gold + per day just by doing daily quests and getting other goodies like reputation with many different factions.

Some daily quests are an absolute joke like the Kalu’ak’s daily quest in the Borean Tundra “Preparing for the Worst” where you simply have to loot 8 Kaskala Supplies that are lying all over the place in the area. Another super easy one is the Knights of the Ebon Blade “Shoot ‘Em Up” where you simply have to keep pushing the fire button and you’ll probably have your 15 kills in a couple minutes. They made this daily quest a lot easier by the way, it was probably one of the more annoying ones before.

Then there are the quests that could be somewhat tedious. Some of the cooking dailies could be a little annoying, like “Cheese for Glowergold” where you have to loot Aged Dalaran Limburger that you find in the cheese shop in Dalaran and six half full Dalaran wine glasses. Now, unless you’re on when noone else is, the six wine glass part can be very annoying when there are ten other people in the room trying to loot three wine glasses that spawn every minute or so.

I’d type out the best route to make the most gold with the dailies but that really depends on the player’s needs. If you don’t need rep then I suggest doing the most of your dailies in Icecrown, as there are more there and you get more gold. The tournament dailies have added to the appeal of going to Icecrown as many of those dailies are very easy as well and you will find that it will be easy to find groups for a bunch of the quests.

Map It Out to Save Time!
If you are trying to build reputation with one or many of the factions, then write out the ones you need and create a plan as to how you’re going to spend your time doing dailies. It might seem like a waste of time, but in reality you’ll probably waste many more hours flying around mindlessly whereas if you spend the 5 minutes now to map things out (while putting in some juicy gold dailies inbetween) you’ll have a good amount of spare time to do other things like scan the auction house/trade channel or do some heroics, etc.

Troll Patroller
One group of quests I like to do is the Troll Patrol in Zul Drak. This is great if you can make sure you do all of the tasks within 20 minutes because you get an extra 500 reputation and 19 gold plus something special in a package that can sometimes sell for a good amount of gold. You also have a rare chance to get the Deputy Pa’trolla Badge not sure if it’s worth anything though, lol.

Hope this helps, happy gold farming! Be sure to check back soon for more of the latest gold making strategies.

Blizzard has released some of the things that will be changed and added in Patch 3.2. A new patch is always exciting since there will be many new things that add that extra something to the game. Although Yogg-Saron might interest many, if you’re here reading this, you’re probably wondering how you can make an extra gold or two (well probably a little more…)

<div style=”display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;”>

The greatest change that has caught my eye is how every profession is getting a boost, at least in how each profession’s special buff is getting a boost. Although Blizzard is trying to be fair, and I do think they do a great job of it, I still think that Jewelcrafting is a great gold maker. Competition has been tough as of late but even then I’m still easily pulling off hundreds of gold per day with very little effort.

Stack up on Titanium Ore
This is something that everyone can profit from but it will take some investment and time. Investment in that you will either spend time mining (if you’re a miner of course) gathering Titanium when you see it or investing gold by buying cheap Titanium Ore off of the auction house.

With Patch 3.2 Jewelcrafters will be able to prospect Titanium Ore to get raw Epic gems. Yes, you know the gems that are going for like 600 gold each, only those are the crafted versions that you get from Daily fishing quests and are super rare.

Save Your Jewelcrafting Tokens!
Being able to prospect Titanium Ore and being able to get raw Epic Gems means that Jewelcrafters will be able to craft epic gems of all sorts. This means that you will need Jewelcrafting tokens as a Jewelcrafter to buy these recipes. So save now and buy the recipes when they first come out to get ahead of the market! If you have all of the recipes when the patch is released, you will be far ahead of the game and will be able to make tons of gold by either selling crafted gems or selling your service on the trade channel for a nice tip (25g+ or more per gem). Of course the amount of the tip will depend on the server’s economy and how much you want to charge.

There are many other changes in patch 3.2 and most players (especially the ignorant ones) won’t have a clue what hit then until the patch is out (or even later). You have take advantage of this so that you can make the most of your time in Azeroth!

Take a look at Wow.com’s Guide to Patch 3.2 for more information.

The other notable change (among many) is that you won’t be able to get Emblems of Heroism and Emblems of Valor anymore after the patch is released. You will only get Emblems of Conquest from current Heroics as well as Naxxramas. So if you want to rack up on the emblems now (especially for achievements which will turn to Feats of Strength achievements) then now is the time.

And when the patch does come out, we get Tier 9 equipment! Wow, things are progressing fast eh. But the one thing we’re not too sure about is when the patch will exactly be coming out. You might see Titanium Ore a little high now but as people realize that the patch isn’t coming out anytime soon, they might drop their prices and that’s when you should start stocking even if it’s only little bits at a time.

// -->

I spent the better part of yesterday flying around honoring and extinguishing flames. If you want full details visit Wowhead.com’s explanation and faq for the Midsummer Fire Festival. I think it’s the most comprehensive guide out there and I’ve used it religiously throughout my quest to get everything done for the festival. I just need to extinguish a few more flames in the Eastern Kingdoms and kill Ahune for the achievement and I’m done! I’m also currently going after the 3000 Quest Achievement for “The Seeker” title for my mage. It helps being able to teleport all over as a mage as it saves a ton of time.

Making the Gold!
So let’s get to the juicy part of this. How on earth can you make a lot of gold from the Midsummer Fire Festival? Easy enough, do the quests. According to Wowhead, there are 78 festival flames located throughout Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Outland, and Northrend. If you’re Alliance you have 40 and 38 as Horde. If you are level 80, you make 6 gold 63 silver for every friendly flame you visit and 13 gold 23 silver for every flame you extinguish. So actually if you’re Horde you have a greater gold making opportunity here. Whichever faction you are on, if you visit all flames and extinguish all the flames you will make well over 750 gold! That’s right 750 gold! So if you’re looking to buy that epic flying mount or need gold to buy that new Ulduar piece on the AH, this is your chance to make some super easy gold!

Your PvP will be enabled when you extinguish a flame so be careful, I have extinguished about 35 of the 38 as Alliance and I have yet to be killed once. The only time I was killed was in Ogrimmar when I went to extinguish their flame. I was lucky enough to survive all three other major capitals although their guards weren’t really happy with me.

You can also complete daily quests at the flame of each capital city. The easiest two being “Torch Tossing” and “Torch Catching”. For Torch Tossing you will have 5 targets and you throw the torch at the one that has a target on it that looks like the Hunter’s Mark. As a rule of thumb, I wait until the target appears and throw it, if you’re late it won’t count so just wait for the next target to show up. For Torch Catching, try going to Exodar or somewhere that’s less populated as you will have to watch the ground. It’s annoying if you have 10 other players running around since you have to watch a tiny little dot on the ground.

Complete the two easy daily quests and if you want the rest of the quests and you will easily make over a 1,000 gold during the course of this festival, not bad is it? Plus if you can get everything done you will get the “Flame Warden” title as an Alliance and “The Flame Keeper” title as a Horde. As always thank you visiting my website.

So I got a little bored and decided to level my death knight finally. I decided to level her to level 77 so that I could get my epic flyer so that and make her learn both Herbalism and Mining. I’ve been a big preacher of dropping all gathering professions to concentrate on crafting professions. But I’ve decided to go against that and try going back to gathering professions while keeping my crafting professions.

There’s a couple reasons for this. First off, everyone in the World of Warcraft has their own reason to play. Some enjoy PvP and others enjoy running instances and raids. I really enjoy the economy and making gold in the World of Warcraft and that is what inspired me to write everything on the website about making gold for free.

<div style=”display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;”>

I still think as a player matures the core of the World of Warcraft gold income should be coming from crafting professions. I make more than enough gold on a daily basis to get by on and buy expensive items. I just bought my fourth epic flyer for my death knight and recently bought two Nobles Card Decks for my mage and shammy.

Am I bragging? Maybe, I’m sure there are many that can do the same in the World of Warcraft because they have found consistent ways to make gold in the game. Today’s article deals with my newly leveled Herbalism and Mining professions.

So I powerleveled my death knight to level 77 in about 2 weeks and then went from level 1 in Mining and Herbalism in 2 days. In my first day as a Northrend gatherer I was able to get 10 Frost Lotuses and about 20 stacks of herbs and 20 stacks of ore. I probably spent 2-3 hours as I worked on establishing my Gatherer Addon and getting a feel for where are the mining ores and herbs were.

I spent the core of my time in Scholozar Basin for Saronite and Adder’s Tongue and Storm Peaks for Lichbloom, Icethorn and some Saronite ore. On average stacks of herbs go for about 13-15 gold and frost lotuses on my server go for around 30 gold each. So that’s about 820 gold for about 3 hours work. Not too bad right? You just have to be efficient with what you do.

The juicy part is if you have crafting professions that you could use your gathering professions to compliment. Herbalism can help you greatly if you are Alchemist or Inscriptor. Mining can help you if you are a Blacksmith or Jewelcrafter. I’ve talked about ways to make gold in each profession so be sure to look at my list of articles to read more for each specific profession. You could sell excess herbs or ore, but I would recommend utilizing everything with you crafting profession to make even more gold. If you’ve done your homework right you can easily get 50% more or double the 820 gold with your crafting profession.

In addition to the herbs and ore, sometimes you get crystallized earth and shadow with mining and crystallized life with herbalism. You can also get some gems with mining, and I actually got 3 Scarlet Rubies today. Just goes to show how much gold potential there is here. I hope this article helped you and gave you some motivation to become a gatherer as a side job! If you spend a few hours a day this could be a huge gold maker!

The Darkmoon Faire is here! The Darkmoon Faire is here! So you know what that means? Yup, you can trade in your decks of cards for the those awesome trinkets! I personally trade in for two Greatness cards yesterday one for my mage +90 Intellect and one for my Resto Shammy +90 Intellect as well lol. I’m considering buying another Nobles Deck for Enchancement offspec for my shammy.

Wondering how I can afford to buy 3 whole Nobles decks and still have plenty of gold left over? Look no further! I do a combination of the things I’ve written about in this blog to make my gold so that I can buy everything I need in the game to my heart’s content. I seriously am never short of gold.

<div style=”display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;”>

Nobles Deck

With today’s article I want to talk about how the once a month Darkmoon Faire can actually make you very rich. First off you need to either be an Inscriptor and be lucky or have a decent amount of gold to invest in this. I concentrate on Nobles Decks but you can do all of the Darkmoon cards in the newest expanion.

The great way to make gold is to have several decks and hand them in when the Darkmoon Faire is here. And once it’s gone, you have a commodity that has a high demand but no supply except for your trinkets and those that other people have kept extras of. If you’re doing Nobles Decks like me you’d want to concentrate on Agility and Intellect. Strength might be good too but I feel that Spirit is very limited in its use but of course that depends on how you look at it.

I try not to spread it too thin and concentrate on the +90 Agility and +90 Intellect Greatness trinkets. The best time I have found to sell these trinkets is about 10-20 days after the Faire. The first few days after the Faire, people have their trinkets and others will be selling their extras. The last few days before the Faire, people will be willing to wait instead of shelling out an extra 500-1000 gold for the trinket.

So the 10-20 days after the Darkmoon Faire ends allows you to have a very rare commodity that sells well You can probably put a trinket up for +1,000 gold of the Nobles Deck and there’s a decent chance that it will sell because someone will want to spend gold to save the time. Exploit this! Even if this means only one or two Greatness trinkets, you’re still make 1,000-2,000 gold on an investment of 6,000 to 8,000 gold investment or less depending on how much you spent on creating the Nobles Decks.

Also, you can always buy the Nobles Deck but it’s usually cheaper buying individual cards. However, don’t go on a shopping spree on the cards, check for at least a few days to see how much each card is going for. This way you will know when something is cheaper or at market value and you will be able to buy with confidence.

Since the release of the Wrath of the Lich King, a new economy was born and it’s exciting to take part in it. There are those that try to manipulate it, which can be annoying but it’s all part of the phase. I’m sure you see those people on your servers “WTB [Abyss Crystal][Frost Lotus][Frozen Orbs] @ X Price pst!!!” And then they buy whatever item for 5-10 gold cheaper than the AH price and profit from that. It can work if you spend enough time at it but I wouldn’t recommend doing this on your main get a level 1 alt to do this dirty work.

Anyhow, let’s get to the main topic of this article. Inscription is turning out to be a great gold maker and here’s another way of making some decent gold from it. Weapon Vellums are used by enchanters to put an enchant on it and to sell it on the AH. This saves them substantial amount of time so that they don’t have to advertise on the trade channel selling X enchant all day. If they know the popular enchant they can put it on the scroll, put it on the auction house and go off to do whatever it is they do.

Weapon Vellum III
To craft 2 Weapon Vellum III here are the materials required:
3 x Ink of the Sea
2 x Resilient Parchment

I think I might have touched upon it on a different article but getting Inks of the Sea aren’t that hard. My favorite herb to mill is Adder’s Tongue as it is relatively cheap compared to Icethorn and gives me an average of 3 Azure Pigments per 5 herbs and I usually get at least 1 Snowfall ink worth of Icy pigments per stack as well. You only need 3 Inks of Sea, or 6 Azure pigments so with 10 herbs you’ll get what you need while getting extra stuff. This is great gold maker if you are selling glyphs and have leftovers and are looking for ways to utilize your Inks of Sea. You can also sell them in stacks of 2, 5, 10, or 20 at a discount so that you can go through more while making gold!

I’ve previously written an article about selling old world materials for good gold. Many of the world materials sell well anything from Mithril and Thorium to gems and essences. In this article I’ll talk about how you can Prospect Thorium Ore as a Jewelcrafter to make to add to your arsenal of making tons of gold in the World of Warcraft.

<div style=”display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;”>

The Gems that Result from Prospecting Thorium
By prospecting Thorium you get one of five gems: Stary Ruby, Large Opal, Blue Sapphire, Huge Emerald, and Azerothian Diamond. Now according the Wowwiki.com (http://www.wowwiki.com/Prospecting) you have a 30% chance to get Star Ruby and a 16% for the other four. Now my math isn’t perfect, that doesn’t add up to a 100% so you can add a percentage point here and there, I would assume that Azerothian Diamond would have the lowest chance but I might be wrong.

A Little Calculation
The next step you need to take is find what the market prices are for each gem on your server. So for example, say Star Ruby is 8 gold, Large Opal 10 gold, Blue Sapphire 12 gold, Huge Emerald 12 gold, and Azerothian Diamond 15 gold. If you break this down you get:

(8×0.3)+(10×0.18)+(12×0.18)+(12×0.18)+(15×0.16)
=2.4+1.8+2.16+2.16+2.4
=10.92 gold

So what that means is you get roughly 10.92 gold per prospect. Not bad right? Well hold on one sec before you empty the auction house of all Thorium Ore!
The next step is to make sure the Thorium Ore is low enough for you to justify buying it to prospect. You get to prospect a stack of 20 ores four times (5 ore/prospect), so that you means the cost has to be lower than 10.92 gold x 4 = 43 gold 68 silver (roughly). But if you buy the ore at that price it really isn’t worth it. So setup a certain percentage or certain amount of gold that you have to make before this makes sense for you.

You might say 5 gold per stack so that means you have to be able to buy a stack of thorium for roughly 38 gold 68 silver. Other ores such Mithril and lower ores can yield different gems and depending on your server, these gems might go for a pretty penny. I’ve found that Iron Ore can be good too but on my server the Iron Ore themselves sell for a good price so it doesn’t make sense for me to take advantage of it.

Hope this article helped! Be sure to subscribe and take a look a the other articles to help you earn tons of gold in the World of Warcraft. I hope I’m saving you real money by not having to buy gold or to buy gold guides that tell you pretty much what you find here or worse. I hope to eventually post a picture of my gold count, I just spend so much of it that I never have enough to post a picture for (lol). But I’ve bought most things I’ve wanted and now I’m saving to buy Runed Orbs to have items crafted with Ulduar recipes, Item level 226 recipes that beat most drops in heroic Ulduar.

I hope that’s motivation for you to read more. Blizzard has made it so that you can actually buy your way to getting stronger and I’m really happy about that because near the end of BC it was all about PvP and having to run endgame raids to get good gear, now the casual player can also get their hands on awesome gear. Good job Blizzard for this! Take care and thanks for reading! Stay tuned for more

The newest profession Inscription is still scratching a lot of people’s heads. I never thought I would take up inscription because I didn’t think it was worth but boy was I wrong! Inscription might be the new Jewelcrafting in terms of making a lot of gold and I’ll give you at least one reason why in this article.

<div style=”display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;”>

Shoulder Enchants
Before I tell you about Snowfall ink, let me talk to you a little bit about Inscription and its benefits. First off, at a higher level, you will be able to have special shoulder enchants. The 4 different kinds you will be able to attain are:

Master”s Inscription of the Axe
Master”s Inscription of the Crag
Master”s Inscription of the Pinnacle
Master”s Inscription of the Storm

Tomes and Scrolls
Those shoulder enchants themselves are almost worth leveling Inscription in WoW but there’s plenty more. You can make off-hand tomes like Iron-bound Tome or Faces of Doom, both being Bind on Equip (BoE) so you can sell them on the Auction House. You can also make every level of scrolls for every level to use so that they can level faster or farm that much quicker by having better stats.

Glyphs
The core of Inscription is in the glyphs. With the release of the Wrath of the Lich King you can have 3 major glyphs and 3 minor glyphs at level 80 that will help you boost stats or help you in one way or another. Every player should have every glyph slot filled, otherwise it’s a waste of a free boost you could get. This is where Inscription is needed, as we will make the glyph for other players. Some glyphs go tens of gold on the auction house as some are more rare or more in demand than others. Do your research, I can tell you that I’m not maxed out in Inscription but I have easily made back the money I used to level it to 420 which is where it is currently at.

Snowfall Ink
Snowfall Ink
Inscription requires that you mill 5 herbs to create pigments. Herbs create different kinds of pigments and the highest level of pigment is created from all Northrend herbs. Higher ranking herbs (harder to farm in higher level areas), usually give you more pigments than say a lower rank herb. So for example, Icethorn will usually give you more pigment than Tiger Lily. That’s just an example and you should try several stacks of each herb to make sure, don’t worry you will definitely make your gold back.

So the most rare of all inks is the Snowfall Ink. Snowfall ink is created with two Icy Pigments. Icy pigments are a rare pigment that you get from milling Northrend herbs. Now, when you mill lower end herbs, you might be lucky to get one in a stack. However, when you mill higher end herbs such as Icethorn or Adder’s Tongue, you can sometimes get 3-4 Icy pigments in a stack. You need, 2 Icy pigments for one Snowfall ink.

On my server, Snowfall inks sell for 19 gold to 20 gold each. A stack of Icethron or Adder’s Tongue is around 15-16 gold. Do you see what I’m getting at here? I was a little reluctant to write this article since it is a gold mine, but the whole purpose of me writing this blog is so that fellow WoW players can make the most of their time in WoW.

So let’s make this clear, you can get at least 1 Snowfall ink (or 2 Icy Pigments) per stack that sells for 19 gold for 15-16 gold. Plus, because you are milling higher end herbs, you will usually get an average of 3 Azure Pigments per 5 herbs that you mill. That means you get another 12 Azure pigments or 6 Ink of the Sea. So basically you are getting the 6 Ink of the Sea for free as well as any extra Icy Pigments you might get. I’ve had times when I would get 2 Icy pigments for 5 herbs that I mill, I’m sure that’s a rare scenario but it does happen and it only adds to your profitability. You can also turn 10 Ink of the Sea into 1 Snowfall ink at the Inscription trainer in Dalaran.

Now with Inscription comes Darkmoon Card of the North, that can create one card of one of four different decks. The decks are Nobles, Chaos, Prisms, and Undeath. Darkmoon Card of the North is a gamble and I’ve done the math but it just isn’t worth it for me to take the risk. I would much rather sell the materials and buy the individual cards (or the deck) depending on what is cheaper. This might be different on your server or current market but this is the conclusion that I have arrived at.

Darkmoon Card of the North
How did I do this calculation? The materials for Darkmoon Card of the North are:
1 x Resilient Parchment – 45 silver
6 x Snowfall Ink – (6 stacks of herbs or 6 x 15 = 90 gold)
3 x Eternal Life (Currently going for at least 10 gold each, therefore 3 x 10 =30 gold)
3 x Ink of the Sea (You will get enough of these in the 6 stacks you need for Snowfall Inks)

So that totals to 120 gold 45 silver. That’s a lot of gold for each card that you create! Sure if you get any Nobles card then you will be able to make your money back, but what if you don’t get a Nobles card and get an Undeath or Chaos card that is not in demand? You will end up losing money, so my conclusion is simply sell the Snowfall Ink or make glyphs that make you gold. It might be different on your server so do the little calculation with your server’s current auction house prices. And look at all the different cards of each deck to get a feel for their market prices as well.

To take that last calculation another step, if you simply kept the 6 Snowfall Ink you and turned the Ink of the Sea into Snowfall inks from the 6 stacks (6 stacks = 6 x 6 Ink of the Sea = 36 or 3.6 Snowfall Ink) you would have 9 Snowfall Ink. If you sold that for 19 gold each, you would have 171 gold. Even if you sold them for less you would still be better off than creating a Darkmoon Card of the North.

I hope you found this article helpful If you did, please subscribe and let your friends know about this blog. More readers motivates me to write more, haha.

Thanks for reading my blog, if you aren’t familiar with this blog you’ll find nearly 60 articles (as of this writing) to make hundreds of gold per day. I like being realistic and that’s with a reasonable amount of playing time, but if you were to put in a lot of time with a number of the articles written here you can easily make hundreds of gold per hour.

<div style=”display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;”>

Today I’m going to talk about prospecting that Jewelcrafters have. What this is you prospect, or break down 5 ore of any kind (that isn’t green, blue, or epic) and you get a gem, usually green but sometimes blue.

Now because we are in the Wrath of the Lich King, the best ore to prospect is indeed Saronite Ore. On my server, a stack of Saronite Ore goes for about 16-18 per stack. The prices have dropped but so has the price of gems so it makes sense all around.

On average I usually get around 1 blue gem per stack, sometimes none for 2-3 stacks and sometimes I’ve been lucky enough to get 2 blue gems in one 5 ore prospect. It really depends on luck, and the more you do it, the more you will see of either. So all we care about here are averages.

When I prospect I usually buy 10 stacks of Saronite Ore and then prospect all of it. 10 stacks would basically cost me around 170 gold and that’s what I expect to make back from raw blue gems. So I have in my mind what each blue gem is worth at the market price.

The Blue Gems and their respective prices on my server are:
Forest Emerald (4 gold)
Twilight Opal (10 gold)
Monarch Topaz (15 gold)
Autumn’s Glow (20 gold)
Scarlet Ruby (60 gold)
5 blue gem average: 21.8 gold

I consider all green gems (and mind you some of them sell well) as a bonus for my time. You’ll get at least one gem per 5 ore prospect, sometimes two. That means from 10 stacks you will at last 40 green gems. The great thing about these green gems is that if you have too many of one that really doesn’t sell and you want to vendor them, if you craft them into any crafted gem they sell for a little higher, 50 silver if it’s normal and 1 gold if it’s the perfect version. So if you sell 40 green gems for 50 silver that’s 20 gold.

I hope you’re following me here. So basically you need 150 gold from the blue gems. If you have 10 stacks and you get an average of 1 gem per stack and the average is 21.8 gold per blue gem, then that’s 218 gold + 20 gold and you have 238 gold. However, usually I make more than this especially if you craft the gems yourself. Scarlet Rubies sell so well it’s ridiculous. I think I’ve made my fortune with Jewelcrafting alone and this is one of the core ways that I was able to do this.

The daily cooking quest is something that everyone does because it’s easy and it gives them at least a couple Northern Spices that everyone needs to cook most Northrend recipes. You could do the daily cooking quests and sell the Northrend Spices if you don’t need them. You can probably sell them for at least 2 gold a piece which isn’t too bad.

You can always trade in the cooking award you get everyday for 10 Spices, so essentially with the daily cooking quest, you’re getting 10 spices (at least 20 gold) a couple more random spices and sometimes another cooking award (another 20 gold), Kirin Tor rep (albeit minimal) and gold. There’s plenty of reason for you to be doing the daily quest day in and day out!

Rhino Dogs
Rhino Meat
One of the daily cooking quests require you to cook Rhino Dogs with Rhino Meat. This is where you should sell Rhino meat on the auction house. You could either farm the meat when you have some time or buy Rhino Meat when you see it for a cheap price on the auction house. This will depend on your server, but that means you have to be aware of how much Rhino meat goes for when the cooking daily requires it.

The other day I was looking on the auction house and it was 10 gold for 4 pieces of Rhino meat, which is the amount you need for the cooking quest. There are two great places that I have found to farm them. One is in Borean Tundra near the horde base where there is the weak elite on the Rhino. There are tons of Rhinos here and if you can AoE they move around in clusters.

The other great place to farm them is Sholazar Basin near the Nesingwary camp. If you did the quests here you will know that they’re all near the camp.

Chunk O’Mammoth
Chunk o” Mammoth
Here’s another great gold getter if you want to do some farming. Again in Sholazar Basin there are a few mammoths and also in Borean Tundra. On my server, these go for at least 2 gold each. Not bad since some mammoth drop two of these at a time.

Sometimes it can get boring farming one thing too much so have some variety if you have a lot of spare time then mix it up from doing daily quests, running instances/raids and farming. And of course don’t forget to maximize the auction house to make gold, that’s where it’s at. Hope this helped, remember to subscribe to my blog!

A truly epic game with such great quality gameplay. I’ve quit the game at least on a couple of occasions only to come back for more.

In my recent comeback, I leveled my first shaman from 1-80 in crazy speed and at the same time made some gold on the side so that once my shammy hit 80 (which I did yesterday, hurray!!), I could gear her well.

How much gold you ask? Well, by only spending about an hour a day or so on the auction house with my former main that is a Jewelcrafter and Tailor, I made over 25,000 gold in the past month. And I actually think I’m holding back a little bit. I wish I could provide a screenshot but I spent so much gold on gear that I only have about 2,000 gold left. As you can imagine, I was able to buy many epics and fully equip my shaman as both a Enhancement and Restoration build right off the bat. It’s day two since I hit 80 an already I’m doing better than my mage who was my old main.
Runed Orbs
Runed Orb
Well I strayed quite a bit there so let’s get to today’s big World of Warcraft gold maker. The new expansion with Ulduar has brought a new orb and that’s the Runed Orb. Frozen Orbs were the in things but now they are replaced by Runed Orbs.

The scary thing about these orbs is that they’re extremely rare and noone knows how to price them. Eventually we’ll probably see them drop significantly and although maybe not quite to the 60-90 gold range you see with Frozen Orbs, you might see them drop to 150-300 gold range, that’s just my guess.

But in the meantime, these things will fetch up prices well beyond a thousand gold each, as they are used to craft the best epic gear in the game thus far. That means there is huge demand for an item that there is such little supply for.

My advice to you is to put this on your list of items to keep an eye out for when you’re browing the auction house and buy it if you “know” it’s cheap. This will vary on each server but I’d say if you could get your hands on one of these for anywhere around a thousand gold for less buy it! If you don’t want to sell it with the same character, send it to an auction house alt that you should have.

I’m writing this on May 18th, 2009 so don’t be running to the auction house and buying a runed orb priced for 500 gold if a few months (or years) have passed. This is pretty time sensitive. But even if you are playing in the year 2011, everything has a market price and if Runed Orbs are still selling and you see one on the auction house at a steep discount, don’t be shy in buying it and reselling it. That’s the name of the game! Happy Gold Making!
