1,000 gold per hour! Page

Is it possible? Sure it is! Just buy something really low and sell it for a 1,000 gold more! Or craft something that sells at a really high price and buy the materials dirt cheap to make a 1,000 gold profit! The problem is, to average 1,000 gold per hour is tough and nearly impossible unless you've got several auctions going all the time and have a farming system like no other. It's definitely possible if you have the proper resources and dedication.

But let's be realistic...

If you want to have fun or leisurely make gold, then 1,000 gold per hour is not realistic. There are tons of sites out there that offer you ways to 1,000 gold per hour and with the release of the Wrath of the Lich King, it certainly has become easier to make this possible. But if you're going to do other things than farm then it's very very tough to make 1,000 gold per hour. Either way, I'll list some quick ways to make it possible.

Crafting

Crafting items are probably one of the greatest ways to make large amounts of gold. Personally, I have made loads and loads from my Jewelcrafting profession. And I have made over 1,000 gold in one item being sold on the auction house, and that's after the auction house cut!

But that isn't going to be happening every hour, if you get one a day you're super lucky. And it really depends on the market you're in, since if you have a lot of competition, you're profit margins are going to be minimized substantially.

You have to make sure you have a good grasp of market prices for all the materials needed to craft items. Once you have this, you also need to know the market price for the crafted item. This way you can calculate how much potential profit you can get from the item after it's crafted and sold. Remember to include the auction house cut when you do this. Also, a good rule of thumb is that when you buy the materials; make sure you buy them as cheap as you can so that in the worst case scenario you can sell off the crafted item at a lower price (when you really can't sell it in a slow market) without losing any gold.

Gathering

You can make very good money gathering. The one downtime compared to crafting is that you have to spend a lot of time doing just that, "gathering." If you can craft and gather and have time to kill, there's nothing better than putting the two to work and making lots and lots of gold. Just craft a bunch of items that you know you have a decent profit margin in and head off to gather materials to either craft more or to sell the gathered materials.
