There are so many ways to make gold in every profession in the World of Warcraft. The discovery of flasks as well as transmutes, which I will get to in tomorrow’s article, are one of the best ways for Alchemists to make gold in the game.

For this article we concentrate on a skill called Nothrend Alchemy Research. This Alchemy skill allows you to learn a new recipe and get 1-3 potion or elixirs per usage. The cooldown is roughly 68 hours which is significant and you won’t necessarily learn a new recipe every time, this depends on luck, although I have heard that the discovery rate has gone up.

Materials:

10 x Goldclover

10 x Adder”s Tongue

4 x Talandra”s Rose

4 x Enchanted Vial

Potential Potions/Flasks that Can be Discovered:

Crazy Alchemist”s Potion

Potion of Speed

Potion of Wild Magic

Powerful Rejuvenation Potion

Elixir of Accuracy

Elixir of Armor Piercing

Elixir of Deadly Strikes

Elixir of Expertise

Elixir of Lightning Speed

Elixir of Mighty Defense

Elixir of Mighty Mageblood

Elixir of Protection

Elixir of Water Walking

The downside to doing this is that you might not get your money’s worth if you were to fail. However, the upside potential is much better since you will be able to be one of the fewer players in the game that could potentially make a flask or portion. Which means until you learn every single potion/flask that you can learn with this you should be doing it every 68 hours to take full advantage of it.

By learning every potion/flask that you can, you make yourself that much more profitable over time. Every player that has a crafting profession should take pride in their work and try to learn everything that sells and even things that don’t sell, you never know when something that doesn’t sell now will sell later on! Once you learn a flask or potion check the auction house to see if there is a demand for it. If there is, check the price for materials and do a quick calculation to see if it will be worth crafting.
